What can change in a few years! When I wrote the original version of this post in January 2014, the local SEO industry didn’t have the abundance of paid tools that exist now, and many of the free services on my previous list had been discontinued. It’s definitely time for a complete update of the most useful free tools, widgets, and resources I know of to make local business marketing easier and better.
While all of the tools below are free, some will require you to register to access. Others are limited, free or trial versions that will give you a good idea of what they provide and allow you to consider whether it would be worth buying paid access.
